2016 kickoff message

Thanks for your continued support. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone and happy New Year! It’s been a while since the last update, so there is much to tell.  Here is a sample of some of the things we have done and some of the things we are working on.

New Software Development Kit (SDK)
Based on feedback from the development community, we created a new SDK. The new SDK is on GitHub. Please feel free to download it using this link.https://github.com/faceoffers/FaceOffers-SDK-2

New SDK ported to Portable Class Library (PCL)
The new SDK has been ported to a Portable Class Library. For those that don’t know, a PCL is used when you want to easily share code with other apps. This is a relatively new technique in mobile application development and we are using it to develop the FACEOFFERS mobile app. At some stage, we will share this on GitHub as well, so you can easily build your own mobile apps.

FACEOFFERS mobile app
As most of you know, we are building a FACEOFFERS mobile app. This is significant for three reasons. First and foremost, we are building the FACEOFFERS mobile app using Xamarin, so that we can share as much of the code as possible and target as many platforms as possible. The resulting mobile app will work on IOs, various versions of Android, Windows Phone and with Windows Marketplace apps. This will basically make our mobile app hardware agnostic. Second, mobile is a key component to our strategy. By giving our customers an easy way to use their smartphone or tablet to create offers, we increase their overall creation and subsequent usage. Finally, all our Enterprise level customers will get their own Merchant apps. This should be a nice incentive for choosing to work with FACEOFFERS.

Azure API Management
We are working to add our REST Api into Microsoft Azure’s API Management tool. Once done, we will have some good code samples that will easily allow developers to call our service/api from PHP, Java, Node.js etc…

Offer display
We are currently making changes to how public offers hosted by us look. The original design worked, but it needed more creativity. The new design will be much cleaner and better organized in terms of information flow. While we’re at it, we’re also adding an option to combine all offers onto one page. This will allow all active offers for a particular Merchant to be displayed like Pinterest tiles. We will even provide html code that will allow you to easily share offers hosted by us on your website, in an email newsletter, as postings to your social media accounts or any other medium that uses html.

Since FACEOFFERS runs on Microsoft Azure, we can easily tap into other services that Azure provides. One such service that has been overshadowed by Power BI, Office 365, HoloLens and various other Microsoft technologies is Logic Apps. Using Logic Apps, we can easily integrate FACEOFFERS with Salesforce, for example. For more information on that, click here.

Other integrations are being planned and worked on as we speak. Azure and Logic Apps will be the key to helping us accelerate integration with other 3rd party applications.

As you can see, the Logic App is up and running. You can expect to see some of the other items mentioned here in production sometime in the current quarter. If you would like more information on any of the items we’ve mentioned, please don’t hesitate to ask.

The FACEOFFERS platform is currently in a Preview state and will remain so until such time as we can launch the FACEOFFERS mobile app. To register for the Preview, click here.  http://www.faceoffers.com/coming-soon/
